Ditching Gen Z a little

One of the things I see people are expecting is getting Energy without giving it.

You know when you meet someone who’s boring, who doesn’t really and engage and who doesn’t give back conversation wise.

One of them people who doesn’t understand why it takes two to tango.

They’re the worst, right?

And yet, these people somehow expect you to be funny, to be entertaining, to be someone who lights them up even though there is nothing which can be lit up. I’m sure you’ve seen them. They’re the boring ass Zombies who walk around sans purpose with empty eyes. Earbuds in, all serious, on their phone, looking for the next dopamine hit.

See, that’s all they thrive on.

Their incessant and complete need for instant gratification and dopamine hits.

It’s their defence mechanism.

They’re so afraid of being left alone with their thoughts. All they do is start thinking about negative stuff anyways. Even though they’re living in peaceful times. There’s no war where they live, there’s no famine and there’s no shortage of anything. Barring common sense, they have everything they need at their fingertips and they’re still not satisfied. In fact, they’re angry. And emotional. As such they need someone to take the blame for their own miserable lives and why everything has gone to Hell in a Handbasket.

Yeah, it’s really dark out there.

And, if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably figured out that I’m talking about they younger generation.

Namely Gen Z. The Zoomers. Or whatever you’d like to label them.

Yes, I very much feel the generational gap, as an older Millennial, who’s no longer an adolescent, but a grown ass man.

Obviously I would assume that both the Boomers and Gen X’ers take swings at my generation as well. In fact, I know they already do. We’ve been called ‘Generation Soft’ and what not.

But looks like there’s an even softer generation behind us.

And children being born today, I don’t know exactly how their world is going to turn out. I think they’ve been called the ‘iPad Generation’ or some such.

Whatever.

It doesn’t really matter.

Look, I know I’ve painted with a very broad brush and generalized a lot.

Obviously, not everyone is like that.

But, there’s an overwhelming majority of people who actually act like what I’ve been outlining above. Especially amongst Gen Z’ers, but also, surprisingly, amongst millennials.

Just open your eyes and you shall see.

Anyway, I won’t go on for much longer.

All y’need to do is learning how to Generate Energy out of thin air and making other people appreciate your company. As in building relationships, trust and friendships so you can benefit socially, financially and in a lot of other ways.
