Getting paid for being in pain

What if you could get paid for being in pain?

What if you, every day, as long as you didn’t kill yourself or anyone else from being in pain, received a token of some sort? Just to symbolize the horrors and atrociousness that you’d have to go through in your life?

Would that have made your life any better?

Would you have been more happy and more content?

I don’t think so.

Which is why I found this thread online rather amusing. It was in a non-disclosed social medium online where someone had started a new thread or chat or whatever they call it these days. The idea was that since people who fight alcohol addiction get tokens every year (to my understanding, it might be different), those who suffered from chronic pain deserved to get some payment of their own. And the suggestion was that with each day that they went through their pain issues without causing damage to themselves or others, they should be rewarded reciprocally.

Naturally, the suggestion was met with cheerful shoutouts and positive, encouraging statements and comments.

If you’re in deep pain, you want some compensation for having to endure it, right?

I totally get that.

What I don’t get is how focusing on getting ‘tokens’ or as someone suggested, candy and sweets, should possibly help you getting over your chronic pain disorders.

In many cases when people with chronic pain eat bad foods, such as junk food or sweets, they get pain flare ups. Their hearts start beating faster, the pain gets more severe and it just ruins their whole day. Of course that doesn’t apply to everyone, but almost always I see people saying the same thing.

Everybody who’s suffering from tremendous pain wants to get rid of it.

So why not reframe this whole ‘getting tokens’ thing into ‘getting to work on my health every day?’

Yes, this means WORK! Like in stop moaning and complaining, roll up your sleeves and start working on what maybe can reduce your chronic pains. I know, this isn’t easy, and it’s probably not the answer you’d want to hear, but it’s the answer that you *need* to hear.

Lest you prefer living in pain all day long.

Sadly, I’m not qualified to give you a recipe for getting rid of your pain. First, it would be unethical and immoral to claim that I know the way to get you out of your pain and misery. I don’t. There are too many factors that apply, that justify just a single way. Maybe you have a past medical record. Maybe you have some dysfunctional genetics. Maybe you’re on other medications that cause you pain. And so on.

Add to that, that I’m not a doctor or a medical professional.

However, what I am is an observer of people who have been suffering from chronic pain for a long time.

And when asked, most, if not all say ‘Yes’ to eating healthy foods and exercising regularly. Of course this depends on your overall state.

If you cannot exercise because of your pain, then don’t. But even small tasks such as walking around for 10 minutes a day, helps. Then, the next day maybe you can walk around for 11 minutes. The day after that, 12 minutes. And so on.

Same with food. Disregarding any medical or nutritional advice from your doctor, which should of course take precedence, anyone can change their diet into a more healthy one.

Skip dessert. Skip the cookies, the chocolate and the cakes.

Add vegetables, legumes and lean beef to what they eat.

Drink water instead of soft drinks.

And so on.

In many cases these little steps help a lot. However, many people need that extra ‘push’ in order to get over their pain issues. It’s like the body has been given a toolbox with the right tools to use, but something just has to get those tools going.

That ‘something’ is called CBD oil and has done wonders for a lot of people who suffer from chronic pain.

Now, I won’t lie. Not everyone who uses CBD oil has felt any difference. You have to be realistic. It probably won’t remove your pain in an instant, but over time, if you apply yourself, you get your diet right and you exercise to the best of your abilities, then I’d personally be very surprised if CBD oil didn’t help you.

Only one way to find out, isn’t it?

Or do you prefer to wallow in pain, misery and horror?

If not, then get started on CBD oil today.

You know where to go.
