‘If you weren’t in pain…
…would you be living your life differently right now? Taking more risks, more trips, living more on the edge?’
It almost hurts as much asking this question as it does answering it.
Of course, the overwhelming majority would answer a loud and ringing ‘yes’. Those who wouldn’t either aren’t in pain or they’re lying. Or they may have some oddly wired brain where they’re capable of actually ignoring their pains and still doing something.
Actually, let me take back that and rephrase it.
There are thousands of poor souls who have no choice but to actually ‘don’t care’ about their pains, even though they can feel their bodies being slowly worn down. Imagine if you have three kids and a spouse to take care of. Your children are in school, your spouse isn’t doing well and you’re in essence the only one who’s bringing in the cash in the household.
Not saying that this is ‘normal’ or ‘fair’ in any sense.
Just pointing out the obvious.
That this is the reality for more people than you think.
And even if they just can’t take it anymore.
Even though life feels so dark.
Even though there doesn’t appear to be any meaning to life.
They still show up every day. Still sacrifice their own comfort and health for the benefit of their families. Still work hard as the real heroes they are. Still fight through all the adversity that they’re facing.
Let me ask you something.
With all that energy and effort that they’re putting into making someone else’s life comfortable, at the behest of their own…
…how much different and how better would their lives have been if they hadn’t been struggling with all the pain? All the issues? All the negative thoughts and depressing moments? All the misery and the letdowns?
All the sadness?
How much don’t you think they’d been able to accomplish if they didn’t have any health related problems? If their own health was the last thing on earth that they’d have to worry about?
If they literally demanded only food, water, sleep and shelter in order to survive?
You know it and I know it. All that energy, all that work that they’d put in would have meant that mountains could be moved. Whole lives would be so different that to an outside observator, it would have seemed like there was a rebirth going on.
And, do you know what?
The possibility of such a rebirth exists.
Though it comes with certain precautions and absolutely no guarantees.
Because, in order to begin your journey towards such rebirth that perhaps will give you a pain-free life, there is a lot of work to be done.
And, I’m not talking about all the work that you’re putting in for others.
Instead, I’m telling you to focus on yourself, for once.
Now, it’s your turn. You have to do something. You have to take care of your own health and life before you start worrying about others. I’m not saying that you’re supposed to ignore your children and family. Family duty is of course mandatory. I’m just saying that certain things can wait.
Your health, though, cannot.
So you need to be a little selfish.
Accept that you first and foremost should change your diet into a more healthy one. Ditch the sugar and processed carbohydrates. Eat whole, clean foods.
Work out to the best of your efforts. If you’re in so deep pain you cannot work out, never mind.
But focus on what you’re putting in your mouth.
Replace that soft drink with water and the candy bar with a banana.
You know where I’m going with this.
Realize that taking this remedy is far from any guarantee for a pain-free life.
But having said that, how could thousands of patients who have gotten their lives so significantly improved, be wrong?
Only one way to find out.
